It is meanwhile widely accepted that cities are to be developed in both a interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary manner; according to transversal approaches that allow to take into account the multifarious problématiques cities are dealing with; and in participatory manners as to allow also citizens to take a more active part in the process of Faire la Ville. And yet, in reality, such aspirations still prove hard to achieve. And this can be for various reasons that can be context-specific, disciplinary, intellectual, or practical in nature. This talk aspires to look into some of the tensions that continue to sabotage an elaborate mediation of urban questions.
