Research program
The limit between infrastructure and city is a space, an ‘extra-space’. It’s a territory inside the city with its own rules, directly connected to the neighbourhood’s local scale, but at the same time related to a railway system that works on a metropolitan, regional and national scale. If we look at this territory as a continuous system of spaces that can redefine the relation between infrastructure and city, it can become a basic resource for city transformation and development. INFRACITTÁ is a hybrid space where it’s possible to develop local resources and experiment with innovative instruments and practices in the search for a new relationship between city, nature, energy, mobility and communication on the metropolitan scale.

The call for entries "Places to be" was open to any person conceiving and producing visual material (be it photographs, documentary, fiction films, etc) whose subject is in any way related to cities, from environmental design to anthropology and all associated disciplines in between: architecture, landscape architecture and design, planning, urban design, lighting design, graphic design, public or urban art, sociology, anthropology and geography.
An international jury selected 30 projects out of 75. This visual material (ex: photographical reporting, video, creation of urban objects, etc.) will constitute the core of the “Place to be” exhibition which will be shown in the public space, in the Bozarshop our some of them at the CINEMATEK in Brussels during the Human Cities Festival. These visuals which integrate the vision of Human Cities will enhance the understanding of the concept of Human Cities by a larger public.
